Going Green is a family affair; from putting greens to cleaning streaky, moss covered roofs we look to do it ecologically.

Going Green Industries specializes in synthetic putting greens. From there, we have moved into lawn maintenance and landscape design, and this past year we have added a roof cleaning division. “We’re always looking for new services to offer.”

When we started Going Green Industries back in 2007, “Consumer confidence was high and families had the disposable income to spend on luxury items, but I am sure I do not need to explain what had happened by the end of 2008. I knew that the income spent on luxury items would be declining at a rapid pace. Therefore we needed to find something that not only can keep our business going strong but also help consumers save money in these tough economic times. I researched an idea of cleaning roofs and thought this is a better time than any to launch this program.”

There are many consumers are not aware that those black streaks, moss and green-looking barnacle growths (lichen) can be removed for close to a 90% savings rather than replacing their existing roof.

Going Green Industries is a family run company.  My mother-in-law, Belinda Walling, who we lost last year to ovarian cancer, was one of the primary reasons I initiated the business. “She thought that my sister-in-law and I would be very good together as a team. My sister-in-law Barb is my right-hand person and makes sure everything from sales to service is running smoothly. My mother-in-laws lucky number was thirteen so in her honor we keep it alive by doing things in donations of 13. Example, for every 13 greens sold we will donate one to ‘The First Tee’ who teaches life skills to children through the game of golf.”

Going Green Industries operates primarily in Northern New Jersey for both residential and commercial customers, but we are finding the business is expanding into different territories on a consistent basis.
